A captain`s knock of 66 by Madhusmita Behera helped Odisha beat Maharashtra by four wickets in their Elite Group Super League match of the Senior Women`s Inter-State Cricket Tournament at Rajkote today. This was the first win in two matches for Odisha, who lost to Railways by 102 runs earlier yesterday.
Chasing competitive target of 165, Odisha faced stiff fight before pulling off a last-ball win. Opening the innings, Madhusmita hit eight boundaries in her 143-ball knock of 66. Most of the Odisha batsmen made useful contributions.
Earlier, Maharashtra rode on T Hasabnis` unbeaten 67 to make 164 for five. Ritu Singh was most successful Odisha bowler, picking up two wickets for 20 runs. The win fetched four points for Odisha, who will play their next match against Delhi on Sunday.
